Conrad Jones – 2008 YYPA Winner, Third trumpet of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, and member of the Kyōdai Brass quintet – shares his experience: “I had a fantastic experience as a Yamaha Young Performing Artist. I was both reunited with old friends and made new ones, many that I’m still in touch with on a regular basis. I remember the concert audience being so ridiculously enthusiastic that it was the first time I ever felt that "rock concert" sensation while playing a classical trumpet solo. It is kind of surreal now that I'm thinking back to it! The workshops were fun and challenging and I still can't get over the amount of talent that surrounded me.
