Allen Maier grew up in Cleveland, OH, the home of Rock and Roll, with the record player spinning Max Weinberg’s beats. In 2006, Allen joined the Minneapolis, MN, band Dropping Daylight and hit the road for their major-label debut. Signed to A&M/Octone Records, he gained immense experience performing and joined the astounding roster of Yamaha drummers. During multiple national tours and a couple of overseas tours entertaining the US military, Allen played alongside influential bands and artists, including Breaking Benjamin, Flyleaf, Stained, Taylor Hawkins, Paramore, The Offspring, and Blue October, and also performed at Warped Tour.
Today Allen is busy as a husband and father of two and has a music studio at his home where his current bands Rose Hound (Hygh Tension Records/Virgin Music Group), and The White Keys call home. Allen has traveled back to the Middle East to support US troops in Qatar, Jordan, and Cuba, and has played countless other unforgettable gigs with his current bands. More recently having shared a stage with Kelly Clarkson, Huey Lewis and the News, Goo Goo Dolls, Soul Asylum, Cheap Trick, The Wallflowers, Neon Trees, Third Eye Blind, and Collective Soul.
Allen continues to seek musical opportunities that bring joy to himself and others. As Ray Luzier (KORN) says, “Allen plays with energy and purpose without overplaying a song. He is a tasteful player and has a lot to offer in the music world. We’ve shared many stages together; he’s a top pro & a very humble human. Be sure to check him and his music out!”
