“He sprinkles stardust on whatever song he plays; you hold your breath in wonder,” wrote The New York Times, while bass legend Ray Brown said, “He brings vitality, he swings hard and I like that!” Since touring with Ray Brown in the early 2000s, GRAMMY-nominated, Yamaha-endorsed American pianist Larry Fuller has built a reputation as one of the hardest-swinging pianists on the scene.
Fuller learned his craft the ‘old school’ way – on the bandstand in some of the most legendary jazz ensembles: the Ray Brown Trio, Jeff Hamilton Trio, John Pizzarelli Quartet, and as pianist and musical director for vocal giant Ernestine Anderson.
Harnessing his extraordinary bandstand experience, Fuller formed the NYC-based Larry Fuller Trio, touring internationally throughout the year. The Larry Fuller Trio is consistently praised for its emotive, swinging style, monster technique, and program versatility. From bop to stride to swing to blues, Fuller’s live performances are not to be missed!
Larry Fuller has recorded on Pony Boy and Capri Records. On Capri, he released the critically acclaimed album Larry Fuller in 2013 and Overjoyed in 2019. Both albums sustained a Top 10 ranking on the National Jazz Radio chart for six months each. Fuller’s albums received global accolades, including being named one of Jazziz Magazine’s albums of 2019.
Larry Fuller has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Symphony Hall Boston, Hollywood Bowl, Kennedy Center, Bern International Jazz Festival, Shanghai Center Theater, Blue Note (Milan, Tokyo, NYC), Auditorio Ibirapuera with Symphony Orchestra Brazil, and many more.
