Domingo Pagliuca is a Latin Grammy Award-winning trombonist from Venezuela, known for his versatility across musical genres. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in instrumental performance from the University of Miami, where he graduated with honors. Domingo currently performs with the internationally acclaimed Boston Brass and serves as Principal Trombone for the Palm Beach Symphony Orchestra.
He began his musical studies in Caracas under his father’s guidance and later studied at Indiana University and the University of Miami, where he earned several prestigious awards. As a soloist, he has performed with major symphony orchestras throughout the Americas, premiering works by composers such as Rota, David, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Larsson. In 2023, He did the Florida premiere of Monuments by A. Hailstrok under Maestro Gerard Schwarz and the PB Symphony Orchestra. From 1995 to 2008, he served as Associate Principal Trombone with the Venezuela Symphony Orchestra and an influential educator in Venezuela’s El Sistema program.
Domingo has toured internationally with Latin music legends including Franco De Vita, Juan Luis Guerra, and Rubén Blades, among others. He has also given masterclasses and clinics across the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Asia, sharing his expertise with musicians worldwide.
In 2019, he released his debut solo album, Eternal Gratitude, produced by Maestro Sam Pilafian, which earned the Latin Grammy for Best Classical Album.
