James B Harrison is a digital creator and percussion teacher. He is the former Drum Line and Drum Set Instructor a Boise State University, and formerly the adjunct Percussion Instructor at Northwest Nazarine University and Treasure Valley Cummunity College. Additionally, he was previously the Percussive Arts Society President in Idaho for 12 years. He is currently teaching remotely, having just recently relocated to the East Coast in Virginia.
As a performer he has played with many top artists including Steve Miller, Bo Diddly, Arturo Sandoval, Phyllis Diller, Bruce Willis, and many top jazz artists. He has performed in a drum battle/duet with the late great Louis Bellson and Billy Cobham. He was also the Director of Education for Vater Drumsticks.
James uses a large array of Yamaha equipment including the Maple Custom, Recording Custom, and Birch Custom Absolute drum sets. He has many Yamaha snares including the Paul Leim, Manuel Katche, Mike Borden, John JR Robinson Signature Snares, and many others. He has been a clinician for Yamaha drums, Remo drum heads, Vater drumsticks, and Sabian cymbals.
