ABOUT

Jennifer Marotta is a Los Angeles based musician who teaches trumpet at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music. As an active freelance musician, she regularly performs with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, San Diego Symphony, and Los Angeles Opera. She has also performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony, LA Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Master Chorale.

Jennifer began her career as a member of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band from 2001 to 2005. She is currently a member of the Grand Teton Music Festival and she performs annually with the Music of the Baroque in Chicago.

Originally from Naperville, Illinois, Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University and her Master of Music from DePaul University, where she studied with Barbara Butler and John Hagstrom.

Marotta was Assistant Professor of Trumpet at Kennesaw State University from 2006 to 2012 and was an artist-in-residence at Emory University from 2006 to 2010.

Jennifer, along with Thomas Hooten, is the most recent editor for Arban’s Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet, published by Carl Fischer.
