Known for his versatility, Rob Sanderl has performed extensively across the US and Europe in orchestras, jazz/rock ensembles, chamber groups, theaters, and the marching arts. He served as professor of percussion at Radford University and the Crane School of Music before moving into administration. His students hold prestigious positions across the country in groups such as the Cleveland Orchestra and the Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps while his percussion ensembles have performed internationally and at home in venues such as the Kennedy Center.
Rob is a published composer whose works have been performed on four continents and heard on NPR. Rob has also appeared at PASIC, the Midwest Band and Orchestra Conference, NAfME National Conference, the College Music Society Conference, as well as numerous state and regional conferences along with festivals both in the US and Europe.
Rob is currently the Assistant Dean for the College of Education at Empire State University and the director of the Empire State Youth Orchestra Percussion Ensemble as well as a freelance performer.
