Tohbias Juniel first appeared on the world stage as a 12-year-old child performer alongside the legendary William Ludwig Jr. His career successes have led to features in numerous digital and print publications, including Modern Drummer magazine, and he was recognized by Fred Gretsch as “…the future of percussion.”
Since 2016, Tohbias, a U.S. Ambassador of Arts and Education, has worked with the U.S. Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. He is involved in international education programs across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, where he promotes cultural understanding and strengthens global connections. Through exchanges in arts, creative industries, and education, his work fosters mutual growth by identifying common ground in diverse artistic and educational practices. This appointment acknowledges his significant contributions to international collaboration.
Musically, Tohbias is the current performing and recording drummer for blues legend Otis Taylor. He continues to record and perform with many of today’s top musical artists, regularly adding symphonic, pit orchestra, composition, and film scoring credits to his name. These credits include digital and acoustic percussion duties with Broadway touring productions of The Wiz and Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.
Driven to amplify and reimagine the future of creative arts, Tohbias is the Founding CEO of DC Global Entertainment, a Colorado-based company dedicated to cultivating creativity, enriching culture, expanding the arts workforce, and supporting related sectors.
As an educator, he was a member of the marching music education team at San Diego State University and contributed to several U.S. scholastic music programs. Tohbias is an alumnus of the Troopers, Cadets, and Blue Knights drum and bugle corps. Later returning to the Troopers and Blue Knights as a percussion caption head, arranger, and educator, respectively.
Juniel’s impactful entertainment experiences have led to collaborations with numerous prominent organizations and events including The Bayou Classic, Bowl Games of America, Biennial of the Americas, the G8 Summit, Coca-Cola, California State Games, Doral PGA Golf Tournament, multiple MLB All-Star Games, National Public Radio, Ireland St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Street League Skateboarding, MTV, Mercedes-Benz, and Disney’s Magic Music Days.
