Ann Marie Yasinitsky grew up in the San Francisco bay area where she began her career playing in the San Jose Symphony, San Francisco Midsummer Mozart orchestra, Oakland Opera Orchestra, and Cabrillo Festival Orchestra. After moving to the Pacific Northwest she served as Professor of Flute at Washington State University for twenty five years. She also performed with the Boise Philharmonic as well as acting principal flute in the Spokane Symphony under conductors Gunther Schuller and Bruce Ferden. She continues as principal flute with the Washington Idaho Symphony and McCall Mountain Symphony.
Ms. Yasinitsky is featured on 20 CDs and can also be heard on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming platforms, most recently with her solo CD, Flute Favorites. Ms. Yasinitsky received a Solo Recitalist Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and a Special Commendation Award in the Vienna Modern Masters International Recording Competition which led to the release of her recording of Jolivet’s Chant de linos. Internationally she has appeared as a soloist in Italy, Austria, Canada, and throughout the US. She also enjoys playing in the pit orchestras of Bravo Broadway in Spokane for touring New York shows including 70 performances of Wicked.
