ABOUT

Dr. Caroline Taylor is Dean of the School of Performing Arts and Professor of Saxophone at Ouachita Baptist University. Active as both a performer and clinician, Taylor is a founding member of both the Arkansas Saxophone Quartet and the Trescendo Trio (flute, saxophone, piano). She has premiered works at World Saxophone Congresses held in Spain, Canada, Minnesota, Scotland, Croatia, and the Canary Islands. Additionally, she has performed at the International Conference for Saxophone Pedagogy & Performance, the Hawaii International Conference on the Arts & Humanities, numerous Biennial Conferences of the North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA), and has performed or given presentations at International Meetings of the College Music Society, the Music Educators National Conference, the National Association of College Wind & Percussion Instructors Symposium, several regional NASA conferences, and the Texas Music Educators Association Conference.

CD recordings include The LYNX Duo: Music for Saxophone & Percussion released through Mark Custom Recordings, and Snoqualmie Passages by Patrick Houlihan, included on Ascend from the Society of Composers and Navona Records. Taylor earned a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Central Arkansas, and both a Master of Music in Woodwinds Performance and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Saxophone Performance from the University of Georgia under the direction of renowned saxophonist and pedagogue Dr. Kenneth Fischer.

Prior to joining the faculty at Ouachita Baptist University in 1998, she taught at Eastern New Mexico University. Dr. Caroline Taylor is a Performing Artist for the Yamaha Corporation of America.
