Frankie Pérez, saxophonist from Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico, began his musical journey at 16 at the Juan Morell Campos Music Institute. He later joined the Puerto Rico State Youth Band, earning the Juan Salvador Gaviota award for outstanding student-musician. He studied Jazz Composition and Arranging at Berklee College of Music in Boston. After returning to Puerto Rico, Frankie performed across genres like reggaetón, gospel, salsa, pop, and Latin jazz. He has recorded or performed with a wide range of local and international artists, including Ricky Martin, Juanes, Celia Cruz, Carlos Santana, Gloria Estefan, Chick Corea and the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra. He has participated in various Grammy Award winning recordings for Gilberto Santa Rosa, Olga Tañón, Jon Secada and Guasabara Combo.
He has played at major jazz festivals such as the Heineken Jazz Fest (PR), Barranquijazz (Colombia), and the Bahamas Jazz Festival.
