Ivan Petruzziello

ABOUT

Ivan Petruzziello is an Italian clarinetist currently serving as Assistant Principal / E-flat Clarinetist of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and Principal Clarinetist of the Corpus Christi Symphony. He previously held principal positions with the Cali Philharmonic and the Valle Symphony in Colombia. An active guest artist, Petruzziello has performed with ensembles around the world, including the Orchestra Internazionale d’Italia, Latina Philharmonia, Orquesta Filarmónica Nacional de Cuba, Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá, and Orquesta Clásica de Colombia. In North America, he has appeared with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Houston Ballet, Irving, Plano, Las Colinas, San Angelo, and Victoria Orchestras. Petruzziello is Program Director of the Spectrum Chamber Music Society, where he is a frequent performer, and regularly appears with the Mount Vernon Music chamber series. He has been featured at festivals including the Sinfonietta di Roma, Euromediterraneo Festival, Tiroler Festspiele, and Orquesta Sinfónica de Holguín festival.

A committed educator, Petruzziello has served on the faculties of several Colombian institutions, including Universidad Central, Universidad del Valle, Universidad EAFIT, and the Antonio María Valencia Conservatory, and has given masterclasses in Colombia, Cuba, Italy, Panama, Peru, and the United States. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from the studio of Francesco Belli, as well as a Master of Music in Chamber Music from Italy and an Artist Diploma Certificate from Texas Christian University. He lives in Fort Worth with his wife, cellist Laura Ospina, their children, Tomas and Olivia, their dog, Breeze, and their cat, Carlotta.
