Jennifer Thomas is a multi-award-winning American pianist, violinist, and composer whose work lives at the intersection of classical tradition and cinematic storytelling. Known for virtuosic performances, emotional depth, and bold visual artistry, she has become one of the most distinctive voices in modern classical crossover.
After performing as a concert soloist with orchestras across the United States, Jennifer launched her independent recording career in 2007. Blending classical precision with sweeping cinematic production, she developed a signature sound that feels both timeless and contemporary — “film score meets fine art.” Her music has since earned international acclaim, appearing on the Billboard Classical and Classical Crossover charts and topping Amazon and iTunes Classical rankings.
Her compositions have been featured in film, television, and global sporting events, most notably in elite figure skating programs worldwide. Her music was heard during three Olympic Games — Tokyo 2021, Beijing 2022, and Milano 2026 — underscoring the global reach and emotional power of her work.
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Jennifer began studying piano and violin at age five under the guidance of her mother, a pianist and composer. She later studied piano performance at Brigham Young University–Idaho and performed with numerous ensembles, including the Murray Symphony and Oregon Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra. During this period, she began composing her own music, merging classical form with cinematic storytelling — a fusion that would define her career.
Jennifer has released eight studio albums. Her 2024 album Oceans debuted at #3 on the Billboard Classical Crossover chart and reached #1 on both Amazon and iTunes Classical. The track “Underwater Carnival Ride” received the Best Contemporary Classical Award at the 2024 Hollywood Independent Music Awards. Her 2018 album The Fire Within gained widespread attention for its viral music video featuring a burning piano — a bold artistic statement symbolizing creative rebirth.
Across platforms, her music has amassed nearly a billion streams worldwide, placing her among the top 0.05% most-streamed artists on Pandora — a rare achievement for an independent composer.
Jennifer remains fully independent, releasing her work through her own label and maintaining complete creative control over her music and visual productions. While remaining independent, she has collaborated on select projects with Avex Entertainment (Japan), Warner Chappell Music (Germany), and Audio Network (UK), contributing to international initiatives across film, television, and global media. She is also a Yamaha Artist and an active member of the Recording Academy, ASCAP, and the Alliance of Women Film Composers.
Her live performances are immersive cinematic experiences that blend orchestral arrangements with visual storytelling. OCEANS Live at Field Arts Hall (2025) — a sold-out, surround-sound concert event — was later released as a digital concert film for global audiences.
Inspired by nature, resilience, and transformation, Jennifer’s music explores themes of courage and authenticity. From her home on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, where she lives with her husband and three sons, she continues to redefine what it means to be a modern classical artist — creating work not only for the ear, but for the imagination.
