Jim Verdeur is a multifaceted musician and educator hailing from the Philadelphia area, widely recognized for his saxophone playing and decades of dedication to music education. His musical journey began at the young age of ten, inspired by iconic saxophone sounds and artists like King Curtis, Junior Walker, the Memphis Horns, and the Beach Boys.

Verdeur honed his craft at West Chester University (WCU) and Arcadia University, further enriching his knowledge through post-graduate studies at The University of the Arts. Beyond his formal training, Verdeur’s passion for music found expression in a 31-year career as an instrumental music teacher in the Philadelphia suburbs, shaping and nurturing young musical minds. He also served as an adjunct instructor of saxophone, jazz improvisation and woodwind methods at Chestnut Hill College.

As a performer, Verdeur remains an active and sought-after presence in the Philadelphia music scene, collaborating with numerous local singer/songwriters. His career boasts impressive collaborations, including sharing the stage with Simon Kirke (Free and Bad Company), Neil Innes (Monty Python), Denny Laine (Paul McCartney and Moody Blues), Southern Culture On The Skids, and a series of performances with The Beach Boys.

While his roots are in music, Jim Verdeur has expanded his creative endeavors to include acting with credits in both television and film. He has appeared in Dispatches From Elsewhere (AMC), Manhunt (Apple), Hustle (Netflix), Dope Thief (Apple), Audrey’s Children (theater release) and Abbott Elementary (ABC).
