Keith Everette Smith is a GRAMMY® and Dove Award–winning producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, recognized for his dynamic trumpet work both on stage and in the studio. A core member of TobyMac’s Diverse City Band, Keith’s horn playing has become a defining element of the band’s high-energy performances in arenas around the world.

Over the course of his touring career, Keith has shared stages with iconic artists including Styx, The Who, The Raconteurs, LeAnn Rimes, and Brett Eldredge, bringing his signature horn sound to some of the biggest stages in live music.

In addition to his work on the road, Keith serves as the primary producer and musical director for Tasha Layton, having produced and co-written multiple No. 1 Chart-topping hits that have established her as one of the leading female voices in Christian music.

Beyond touring and artist development, Keith is a highly sought-after session player, arranger, and producer, working at the highest levels of both mainstream and Christian music. His diverse credits include collaborations with artists such as Jack White, Jonas Brothers, Dolly Parton, Lauren Daigle, MercyMe, Keb’ Mo’, and Amy Grant, among many others.

As a producer and creative, Keith has contributed to chart-topping songs and impactful projects across multiple genres, including Hillary Scott’s GRAMMY®-winning single “Thy Will.” His work in film and television includes credits such as The Lone RangerJersey BoysDegrassi, and producing music for the 2016 People’s Choice Awards.

Rooted in a lifelong passion for the trumpet, Keith brings a rare combination of musicality, precision, and creativity to every performance and recording. His sound—both powerful and expressive—has made him a trusted voice for artists, producers, and audiences alike.

Keith has proudly played Yamaha trumpets since 2003 and has been an official Yamaha Performing Artist since 2015.
