Lasim Richards is a dynamic trombonist and educator hailing from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawn to the vibrant jazz scene and rigorous training of Berklee College of Music, Lasim moved to Boston where immersed himself in top ensembles and built a reputation as a sought-after freelance trombonist across New England. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music business and management — a foundation that would later prove invaluable in navigating the ever-evolving music industry. Continuing his academic and artistic growth, Lasim earned his master’s degree in jazz studies from Florida International University in Miami.
Today, Lasim thrives at the intersection of genres, television, stages, and studios. A firm believer that versatility is the key to longevity in music, he has performed and/or recorded with an astonishing roster of global icons – including Usher, Pharrell, Lana Del Rey, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Dave Matthews Band, Ariana Grande, Disclosure, John Legend, Chris Cornell, Zac Brown, Kanye West, Gwen Stefani, TLC, George Benson, Michael Bublé, Kelly Clarkson, Ron Blake, Booker T.
