Matthew Cremisio

ABOUT

Originally from upstate New York, Matthew Cremisio holds degrees in Music Education, Music Performance, and Educational Administration and Leadership. He has completed additional graduate studies at the Eastman School of Music, along with coursework in Business Management. His principal instructors include Jim Petercsak, Gary France, Frank Gibson, Jr., and Rich Thompson.

Mr. Cremisio has toured internationally as both a musician and educator, with performances in Australia, Germany, and Switzerland, and has also performed for Dolphin Cruise Lines in Miami, Florida. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with numerous distinguished artists, including Connie Francis, members of The Lawrence Welk Show, Donna Cherry (Barry Manilow), Kim Nazarian (New York Voices), Engelbert Humperdinck, Dale Barlow, Mel Martin, John Fedchock, Jim Snidero, Helen Matthews, James Morrison, Wynton Marsalis, Denis DiBlasio, Michael Davis, Christian Howes, and the National Broadway Tour productions of Grease and Carousel.

In the field of education, Mr. Cremisio served as a music educator and Director of Music Education in both the Niskayuna Central School District and Shenendehowa Central Schools. He has also been an adjunct faculty member at The College of Saint Rose and is the founder and conductor of the Empire State Youth Repertory Jazz Ensemble. His work includes conducting and adjudicating at local and regional music festivals, as well as presenting drumset clinics and rhythm section workshops for organizations such as CASDA, NYSSMA, PAS, and IAJE. Additionally, he has contributed as a staff writer for Jazz Player Magazine, Activate Magazine (Lorenz Publications), GIA Publications, and Warner Bros. Publications. His international teaching experience includes leading workshops and guest artist performances throughout Switzerland with the Empire State Youth Jazz Ensemble.

Mr. Cremisio has served on the Educational Advisory Board for the Pro-Mark Corporation and was invited to join the Percussive Arts Society National Drumset Education Committee. His professional leadership roles include Vice President of the International Association of Jazz Educators (New York State Chapter), NYSSMA Instrumental Jazz State Chairperson, and President of the Suburban Scholastic Council of Music Directors.

He currently serves as Director of Music and Liturgy within the Diocese of Orlando, Florida. In addition, he performs as a cast member and musician at Walt Disney World and with Tony Aleguas Productions at Universal Studios.
