Nicholas Semrad is a composer, producer, and keyboardist whose work dissolves genre boundaries. Known for his immersive blend of ambient textures, modern classical and gospel infused piano, and cinematic sound design, he has become a sought-after collaborator in both live performance and visual media.
Over the past decade, Semrad has toured internationally with artists including Lauryn Hill, Cory Henry, Gabriel Garzón-Montano, Knower, Mark Guiliana, and is currently touring with Empire of the Sun. His dynamic and expressive playing established him as a leading voice in the jazz, gospel, and synth communities.
In parallel with his performance career, Semrad has developed a strong presence in film and television scoring. As a longtime contributor to Oscar-nominated composer Kris Bowers’ team, he has crafted custom synth designs and keyboards for major studio projects including The Wild Robot (DreamWorks), Secret Invasion (Marvel/Disney+), Space Jam: A New Legacy, DMZ (HBO), and more. He also performed keyboards on Disney’s Haunted Mansion soundtrack.
