ABOUT

GRAMMY® award-winning cellist and producer Philip Sheegog pushes the boundaries of genre with a technical versatility, fearless commitment, and extroverted generosity that have made him a trailblazing voice in the world of contemporary strings. Through his electroacoustic string duo ARKAI, Sheegog fuses the sonic traditions and technical vocabulary of his native classical with cutting-edge sound design, live audio processing, and myriad genre influences to create a distinctively modern synthesis that sounds like a jam session between AC/DC, Daft Punk, and Hans Zimmer. ARKAI’s signature sound has led Sheegog to hundreds of performances around the world including the EMMY Awards, NBA playoff shows for the Los Angeles Lakers, Carnegie Hall, TED Talks, and opening for GRAMMY and Oscar-winning musician Jon Batiste. Other highlights include collaborations with celebrity photographer David LaChapelle for Milan Design Week, tours with superstar violinist Lindsey Stirling, and a collaborative album with piano sensation Tony Ann released on Decca Records. ARKAI’s sophomore album Brightside — engineered, produced, and mixed by Sheegog — won the GRAMMY for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album in 2026.
