Stacy Wilson is an award-winning saxophonist currently residing in New York. She is the principal saxophonist with the West Point Concert Band, one of America’s premiere military bands, and soprano saxophonist with the internationally acclaimed Zzyzx Quartet. “There are many ways to describe Stacy Wilson’s saxophone performance abilities, but perhaps at the top of the list should be flawless perfection.” (Thomas Erdmann, Saxophone Today magazine).
As a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. A decorated soloist, Stacy won prizes in many national and international competitions including the Gaudeamus International Interpreter’s Competition in Amsterdam, North American Saxophone Alliance Collegiate Artist Competition, William Byrd International Competition, MTNA National Competition, and advanced to semi-finals of the Londeix International Saxophone Competition, one of the world’s most prestigious saxophone competitions. Additionally, Stacy has been an adjudicator for prestigious competitions including the Elise Hall Saxophone Competition, Asia Pacific International Competition, the MTNA Young Artist Competition, and the NASA Collegiate Artist, Young Artist and Quartet competitions. Stacy served as a mentor for the 2024-2025 North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) Committee for Gender Equity and worked with a mentee on the creation and implementation of a community-focused project and presented masterclasses through the program.
Dedicated to chamber music, she is the soprano saxophonist with the internationally acclaimed Zzyzx Quartet. Zzyzx has presented masterclasses and residencies throughout the continental United States and have performed throughout the world. They have two commercial recordings available on all streaming platforms. Stacy holds degrees from Indiana University Bloomington and the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Stacy is on faculty at Montclair State University’s John J. Cali School of Music and is a Yamaha and D’Addario Performing Artist.
