Dr. Catheryn Shaw Foster is an Assistant Professor of Practice of Music Education at Virginia Tech. She co-founded the Rural Band Director Alliance and hosts the “Rural Band Reflections” podcast. She was recognized as a 2025 Yamaha “40 Under 40” music educator.
