Emily Starbuck Gerson is an award-winning freelance journalist who spent many of her formative years playing cello classically and with rock bands. In her spare time, she runs the LGBTQIA blog Profiles in Pride (www.profilesinpride.com) and engages in community activism. Emily’s wife is a transgender military service member, and they’re currently stationed overseas.
