Dan Schmitt is the Director of Bands at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Plainfield, Illinois. Dan attended VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, and while there, he studied trombone and euphonium in addition to his primary instrument, percussion. During his time at VanderCook, he became an active member of the National Band Association, the National Association for Music Education, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and the Percussive Arts Society. Dan is excited to maintain involvement in these organizations as he returns to Plainfield to teach in the school district and community where he grew up in.
