Dr. James Yakas is the Director of Percussion Studies at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. He is extremely thankful for all the students he has worked with at VanderCook (percussionists and non-percussionists) who helped inspire this blog series. Dr. Yakas has been a Yamaha Performing Artist since 1999.
